We specialize in building a variety of composting systems – Recycle nearly ALL of your household organic waste, leaves, lawn clippings, hedge trimmings, and liquids! We encourage any keen gardener to have a healthy, thriving compost system in place on their property. At home compost production not only helps the environment, it saves you tons of money on costly soil amendments.
Homemade compost contains a plethora of soil health building biological organisms and beneficial fungi. It is significantly more nutrient dense than the “bagged stuff.”
We inoculate every compost system we create with local microbes and fungi from our mother pile to give decomposition a jump start.
Upcycled, reused pallet compost systems are a favorite of ours. Multiple bays can be created, and less pallets end up being put in landfills as a result.
Compost systems should generally be placed in a semi-shaded environment.
There are a ton of common misconceptions about composting at home. First, an active and healthy compost system does NOT smell. Second, it does not attract rodents or wildlife if properly turned and maintained. And finally, composting is not rocket science. We can provide you with great, user friendly instructions on how to manage and balance your compost system.
Leaf cages are a no brainer when it comes to composting. We see the bagging and subsequent removal of leaves from suburban laws to be a very unsustainable process. Why bag your leaves when you can easily compost them in a leaf cage and add this carbon rich “leaf mold” to your compost pile throughout the year.
